Meagan is a Hunter Jumper trainer, specializing in developing young riders and adult amateurs, and recently expanded her career into the world of three day eventing. Meagan focuses not just on developing good riders, but on creating great horsewomen and horsemen by teaching all aspects of horse management and care. All in a relaxed, safe, fun, family friendly environment. Meagan enjoys working with and educating all levels of riders, from the beginner that needs help tacking up the horse, to the student ready to move up the levels of competition.
Born and raised in the Bay Area, Meagan started riding at a young age at Portola Farms in Woodside, CA. She grew up showing at local hunter/jumper shows and riding in the Arabian Horse Breed circuit. By age 12 she was competing western, saddle seat, driving, and hunter pleasure. After being privately sponsored as a young rider she began competing at the USEF Regional and National levels, winning USEF Horse of the Year and placing top 3 USEF Junior Rider of the Year. During and after college, Meagan had the opportunity to work full time for trainer Michelle Mahoney. There she gained valuable experience starting young horses, working with horses with behavioral issues, developing and marketing sale horses, while continuing to compete. Currently Meagan works alongside Lauren LoPiccolo at Big Sky Equestrian Center providing lessons, training horses, and competing in three day eventing.
